    Ты просил меня рассказать о Москве. Ну, это очень красивый город, особенно осенью, когда все деревья окрашиваются в различные цвета. Центром Москвы является Кремль. Это древняя крепость с красивыми церквями внутри.
     Москва является уникальным городом, где история и современная жизнь собираются вместе.  С одной стороны, ты можешь увидеть здесь традиционные русские праздники, такие как Масленица. С другой стороны, Москва является современным, живущим круглосуточно, городом, где можно побывать во множестве разных театров, кинотеатров и выставок.
     Кстати, ты можешь мне рассказать о своей школе и школьной жизни? Есть ли у вас клубы в школе? Много вам задают домашних заданий? Напиши мне.

    You asked me to tell you about Moscow. Well, it is a very beautiful city especially in autumn when all trees are of different colors. The heart of Moscow is the Kremlin. It’s an ancient fortress with beautiful churches inside.
    Moscow is a unique city, where history and modern life are brought together. In the one hand, you can enjoy traditional Russian festivals such as Maslenitsa. On the other hand, Moscow is a modern 24-hour city where you can visit different theaters, cinemas and exhibitions.
    By the way, will you tell me about your school and school life? Do you have any clubs at school? Are you given much homework? Please write back.

At the moment British monarchy is led by Queen Elizabeth II. Each time the royal family is in the palace, a flag flies on the roof. The palace was built in 1705 by the Duke of Buckingham. In 1761 King George III bought this palace for his wife. It became a private house of Queen Charlotte and was known as “The Queen’s House”. During the 19th century the house was enlarged and became the official royal residence. Queen Victoria was the first monarch to reside in the palace. She moved there in 1837 leaving Kensington Palace, where she grew up. Buckingham Palace has nearly 600 rooms, including a throne room, a ballroom, a dining-room, picture gallery and even a swimming-pool. Some of its rooms can be visited in summertime, only when the Queen is not at home. One of the most interesting parts of the palace is the Queen’s Gallery, where works of art of the royal collection can be seen. Royal garden and stables are also curious sights. Every year more than 50 000 invited guests are entertained at garden parties, receptions and banquets. Many tourists come here to see the Queen Victoria Memorial which is set right in front of the Buckingham Palace. Every day at 11 am Changing of the Guard ceremony takes place. It is the time when colorfully dressed New Guard parades along the building and replace the existing Old Guard. The ceremony is accompanied by music and attracts a lot of viewers.

In Moscow, a lot of attractions. My favorite is Moscow City. In Moscow City 9 skyscrapers, named after the planets. I also like Red Square. The most important events in Russia take place there. I love Moscow very much!

1) Red Square is one of the most famous Russia’s places of interest. It is located right in the heart of Moscow.
Many significant buildings surround Red Square. There is the Kremlin, Lenin’s Mausoleum, The State Historical Museum is also located in the square.
Red Square is the place where a lot of festivals are celebrated.
2) The Kremlin is a fortified complex in the centre of Moscow. It is the main political and historical place of the city.
The walls of the Kremlin are made in the form of an irregular triangle. The Troitskaya Tower is the tallest tower of the Kremlin. Its height is 80 metres.

4) Saint Basil’s Cathedral is located in Red Square. This Orthodox church is a world-famous landmark. The church was built in the XVI century by order of Ivan the Terrible. There are 11 domes in Saint Basil’s Cathedral. Its height is 65 metres.
5) The Bolshoi Theatre is one of the most renowned theatres in the world. It is located in Theatre Square. The performances of ballet and opera are held there.
The Bolshoi Theatre was founded in 1776. Since then more than 800 productions have been staged there.
6) Moscow City is a business district in the centre of Moscow. The area is still under construction. By 2016 12 buildings out of 23 have been built there.
In Moscow City there are office buildings, shopping malls, leisure centres, exhibition centre, restaurants, elite apartments.
7) The State Tretyakov Gallery is one of the largest depositaries of Russian fine art in the world. It was founded in 1856 by Pavel Tretyakov, a Moscow merchant.

Moscow is the biggest city of Russia and its capital. The city is situated on the Moskva River and was found more than 800 years ago. Nowadays, Moscow is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It houses many attractive parks and squares, great architectural wonders and countless places of interest. Special attention is always put to the city center, as there are the most famous sights. Among them, the outstanding Kremlin and the Red Square, the Bolshoi and the Maly Theaters, Saint Basil’s Cathedral, the Historical Museum, the Armoury Chamber and many others. Moscow is not only the official capital of Russia, it’s also considered to be the cultural, educational, industrial and scientific center of the country. That’s why, the largest and most important museums, galleries, opera houses, universities, companies, research centers are all situated there. The best place for art lovers in Moscow is the Tretyakov State Gallery, which holds a large collection of Russian fine art. Another interesting collection of paintings and sculptures is held in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. In the very heart of the capital one can find the Historical Museum and the Armoury chamber. Both these museums can tell more about Russian history than any other place. One of the newest and most famous religious sights in Moscow is The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. It’s situated on the bank of the Moskva River and is known as the tallest Orthodox church in the world. The view of Christ the Saviour’s Cathedral strikes imagination with its grandeur and magnificence. Other than that, Moscow has a great number of famous parks, squares, theaters, monuments, streets and concert halls. Undoubtedly, Moscow is a very special city.
