Герундий — это неличная форма английского глагола с суффиксом -ing, соединяющая в себе черты существительного и глагола и несущая в себе оттенок значения некого процесса. В этих предложениях standing и riding. 
В данном контексте перевод standing-остановка(Таким образом, есть риск остановки), riding-преодолеть (Но есть и риски навсегда преодолеть волну технологического прогресса, которая может быть дорогостоящей).

Ройте скобки, употребляя герундий. Объясните, почему в данном случае надо употребить герундий.
